Meet the enchanting jeweler, Joan

At age 25, this heiress of a jewel empire has built a name of her own. She's handling business while staying as glam as possible. Meet the enchanting Working Wooman in our small chat with her.

What do you love most about your present profession and why?
I love jewelries and everyday does not feel like work when you love what you’re doing and what you’re being surrounded by. Our family has been in the industry for more than 30 years. My whole life revolved around the beauty and the glam of the pieces. It’s like an extension of myself.

How do you deal with challenges in your business?
Everyday is a challenge and stress is inevitable. I just need to remain collected in order to make a conscious and right decision during critical times. I always think of domino effect, and how stress could affect my action towards the problem and my subordinates. Like I always tell people and to myself that every challenge can be conquered with an aware and calm mind.

What motivates you to excel in your business?
I want to make myself and loved ones proud every day.

What is your advice to young #Woomen who have just started their career?
Starting on a new career could lead to a lot of pressure, fear and self doubt. But when you practice self love; disrespect, doubts, and being too hard on yourself and others will no longer have a room within you. You will become a better person or leader or colleague when you project love, understanding, empathy and kindness not only to others but to yourself too. People will believe and follow you when they know you are fully committed to your goals, to yourself, to your growth, and to your moral principles. Be your number one supporter and they could never deny your charisma. Invest not only on educational grounds, invest on expanding your emotional intelligence as well. Never stop investing on becoming a better version of yourself.
